Brion d'Deneith: "Believe it or not, your safest bet may be the seedier parts of the city. The lower the better."

The night passes quietly in the safehouse. You awaken to a bright morning, like most in Sharn.
Deep within the Cogs is a city within a city. A city where the Sharn Watch does not dare tread. A city that is dark and dangerous. Khyber’s Gate is much like Graywall—a place where monstrous races have carved out a place of their own, where the ‘civilized’ races are not welcome. Humans, elves, halflings, dwarves… they can all be found here. But like in Graywall, they are criminals hiding from the law or looking for a place to do their illicit business at will. Goblins watch passerbyers from the shacks and decrepit buildings of the district, and thieves lurk in the shadows. The place reeks of the smell of smoke and garbage. But as dark, dirty, and chaotic as Khyber’s Gate seems, there is an order here. An order established by the monstrous gang called Daask, and enforced with muscle and steel. But it would be wise to watch your step…

* Keira asks nissa to play along, and than starts acting like they're a 'couple'
Everyone takes their places (Keira and Nissa each find a possible John) and after 20 minutes, Jurgen makes his way into the large tavern.
Ashe: ((hahahaha))
Cur: (( Well gnomes are the right height... ))
Jurgen looks around and quickly eyes Calden and Cur. He then heads to the bar, where he makes small talk with a gnoll and a half-rc.
* Nissa plays along uncomfortably
Ashe: "Let's go grab a table somewhere Taus."
Taus: "Sure."
Calden: Try not to stare, Cur.
Ashe: Perception Check: 19
About ten minutes later, he gets up, looks at Calden briefly, and then walks out of the bar.
Keira: "Oh come on dear. Loosen up. Look, there's a tavern. Let me buy you a drink..."
* Cur scowls at Calden
* Calden gets up and follows the dwarf after 1 minute.
* Nissa whispers, "wouldn't we fit in more if we were offering ourselves up as a two for one deal?"
* Ashe walks out after Jurgen making sure to be inconspicuous.
Calden and Cur find Jurgen leaning against the wall up the street a little bit.
* Taus walks out a bit after Calden and tries to tail
* Keira whispers back, "I have no idea how ladies of the nigth normally act..."
* Ashe keeps his distance from Jurgen and the rest but makes sure to stay within earshot.
* Nissa responds, well, maybe it's best to keep up this charade then
* Calden walks past Jurgen, ignoring him, but stops before Juren is out of sight.
* Ashe watches the surroundings.

Jurgen: "The goblin is a soothsayer. Has a shack just up the street. I suppose ye need to talk to her."

DM: Jurgen said that to Ashe when he came close.

Ashe: "Allright then. Go ahead. We'll follow."
Cur: "Only found out about the damned thing last month!"
* Jurgen points northward up the alley.
Cur: (( Or however long its been ))
Calden: Concentrate on him... I suppose. It's something you feel, instinctively.
Nissa: "But I know how much you love it, so I don't mind going in."
Calden: Or at least mine is.
Cur: "Instinct, eh... that I can do..."
Keira: "Alright then. How about shopping? They're sure to have exotic items down here." glances about and starts walkign towards/past Calden...
Nissa: "Sure, I'm up for whatever."
* Cur tries concentrating on his primal hunter instinct to follow Jurgen
Calden: Hey, ladies... *to Keira and Nissa*
Keira: "Tall, dark... what do you think dear?"
* Cur grins at the two
Calden: I have a nice little spot in an ally right around the corner...
Nissa: "Everybody's tall for me!"
Jurgen walks up the street and stops.
Calden: *to Cur* I get the redhead. They're wild.

A small shack covered with animal hides and adorned with hideous charms and talismans is nestled among the other ramshackle tenements and shops of the dirty alley.

DM whispers: Whoever owns this shack is clearly a cultist of the Dragon Below. The Khyber cults worship and venerate a wide variety of dark forces said to dwell in the depths of Khyber.
DM whispers: Based on the trinkets you are seeing, the owner worships lords of madness from the plane of Xoriat, called daelkyr.
Nissa: "Come now, don't be shy."
Keira: * sigh *
Cur: "You're very aggressive, for a gnome..."
* Calden leans close, next to Keira's ear, "What are those markings?
* Keira mutters 'daelkyr' under her breath, loud enought for calden to hear
Jurgen looks up the street towards you, and then knocks on the door of the shack.

A leathery and wizened old goblin woman emerges from the shack. Strange smells follow her—pungent, sour, and sickeningly sweet odors that together cause the bile to rise in Jurgen’s stomach a bit. As the door closes behind her, the lean-to shudders, making you wonder if it will crumble. The crone, covered in decaying garments and adorned with small animal bones, looks up at Jurgen.
Nikraa: “You seek your fortune? Begone! I have no time for readings today. Leave me in peace!”
Calden: *still quiet* Worshipers of the Dragon Below? Or worse?
Jurgen: "I.. uh..."
* Keira also whispers to Claden,, "If sari came back to Sharn, this is the kind of person she'd seek out..."
Jurgen: "I seek the Shepherd."
* Calden stiffens
Nikraa: “Hmmm? The Shepherd you seek? None seek him. He seeks. He finds the lost sheep. Only the blessed may be found. And how do we know the blessed?”
Calden: She's looking for her brother...
* Jurgen rolls up his sleeve and apparently shows her his dragonmark.
Nikraa: “Bah! Marks can be put on dogs. The Shepherd seeks the cunning and the strong. Only then will they survive.”

The woman lifts one of her many charms hanging on chains around her neck. You realize that this one is a preserved tongue. She cackles hideously.

The goblin woman turns around and looks straight at Ashe.
Nikraa: "It is fortunate that you have assistance."
