The room suddenly begins to spin faster and faster, and you are each consumed by dizziness and nausea. Brilliant colors—yellow and pink and purple—flash and spin around you. It almost feels as if you are being sucked into a vortex of brilliant light.
You whisper to Keira: Even in the midst of the nausea, you can sense a very strong magic that is pulling on your essence. It is much too powerful for you to gain any sense of comprehension, but it is unmistakable.
Cur: Even Cur looks impressed by Keira's aura of majesty...
You wonder if the spinning will go on forever or if you will perish in the sickening rush, but after a few moments the rush of light and air stops suddenly. You are met by a scene even more surprising. You may be in the same cavern, but it has utterly changed. The stalagmites and stalactites are gone. It is much larger, and it is filled with an army of goblinoid warriors. Luckily, you stand to the side at the opening of a passageway. The army is clearly preparing for battle, and standing on a rise at the head of their ranks is a large hobgoblin warlord. Goblins, hobgoblins, and bugbears all are chanting together, “Zaraani! Zaraani!”
You whisper to Wyrmling: This is the same scene that you saw in the vision.
Taus: "Oh no, not again..."

A voice sounds behind you, “You there! Come here.”
A cowled figure stands in the passageway behind you, and he motions for you to join him.
You whisper to Wyrmling: A shriek of rage rips through your mind. It almost knocks you to the floor.
"Kill it! Kill it now!!!" The Coat of Eyes screams in your mind. You don't know what is happening, but the power that moves through your armor of eyes is clearly enraged, if not afraid.

A little bit ahead, the cavern open into the bottom of a great crevasse. Loud noises as of battle can be heard from above, and the flashes of light indicate a plateau up above you. Another opening of a passageway is cut into the cliff face on your level below the plateau. It is a short way across the floor of the crevasse, maybe 25 feet to the passageway.
Kruul'ort: “Let me rest a moment. You may want to scout ahead. I do not think that the foulspawn will find this side passageway, but we must be wary. It sounds as if battle has been joined above.”
Sari: (( You know how long it's been since I bathed under there, ick! ))
Taus: (( eew, like when you take a cast off after a month ))

You all enter the passageway, which weaves quickly to the left and right. It eventually narrows to the point where you must walk sideways.
Sari: Stop congratulating each other and lets get out of here
Calden: "Easy, Sari. We need to celebrate whenever we can."

Taus: "I need a graf..."
Kruul'ort: “Quickly now! We are near.”
The passageway leads to a small chamber. A horrific ruckus can be heard just around the corner. The screams and laughter of thousands of madmen would pale in comparison to the nightmarish sounds you hear. A brief peek around the corner confirms your fear and adds to the demented dreams that will surely result from this strange sojourn into time. Beyond this small chamber is a large cavern, full of writhing, misshapen, horrific creatures. In the center of the cavern, a huge rippling disc of colorful energy spans two great stalagmites. The smell that comes from the room is almost strong enough knock you over. Emerging from the disc are more and more of the creatures. To your utter repulsion, a large creature comes through—a great hovering mass of flesh with a massive eye in the center of it. Smaller eyes are fixed to tentacles all over its body, and a massive maw rests below the central eye. It laughs with a bellowing maniacal cackle, and moves forward with the army of madness out of the cavern away from you. Luckily, they are so bent on where they are going—the battle above—that you are not seen.
You whisper to Wyrmling: The Coat says, “My beautiful creations come. There is nothing this old fool can do. Soon I will come through as well, and we will be united, my child. Then I will recreate you! You will revel in the power of flesh as it should be!”
Taus: (( insanity check? ))
You whisper to Wyrmling: The muting effect is beginning to weaken it seems. The voice seemed far away, but you heard it clearly.
Sari: What the fuck..
Kruul’ort seems to not be phased by the sounds or smells. He quickly gets to work. First he unrolls a weathered scroll onto the floor.
Taus: "By the host..."

He takes out a glowing dragonshard that pulses slightly and begins to dip it into a small satchel. As he draws the shard out, it is covered in a green powder which appears to swirl about the shard.

The ancient Gatekeeper druid sits in the midst of the ritual circle and places both hands palm together. He begins chanting softly. The soft glowing lines on the ground begin to move and swirl, rising up from the ground. Something powerful is clearly happening.
Calden: "Damn, I hope he doesn't get too loud."
Taus: "Yeah, this is awful glowy..."
Kruul’orta continues chanting softly, and the glowing lines weave a an interlacing pattern around the druid. He opens his eyes suddenly and whispers a word of command. The floor begins to shake and tremor, and a loud crack is heard in the cavern where the breach to Xoriat lies. Screams of anger, terror, and agony erupt from the room. The Gatekeeper was successful! Sounds of confusion ensue, and Taus looks around to see the foulspawn thrashing about and turning on one another. The disc of energy between the stalagmites is gone. The creatures continue to march away towards the battle that the goblins must surely lose, but something was clearly stopped here this day. A heavy blow was delivered to the forces of madness.
You whisper to Wyrmling: “You have failed me, child. And you will taste my punishment soon enough. But you may yet redeem yourself. The old fool kept me from entering here, but his brethren could not stop me from emerging in Ja’shaarat. They eventually imprisoned me, but I will soon unleash my vengeance upon this world. You will see. Oh yes, you will see, my child!”

Yet his reward awaited him in the halls of our fathers.”

You begin to leave the chamber with the old orc, and the fabric of time is again torn. Swirling light encircles you, and you begin spinning. Or maybe the world is spinning? Nausea fills your stomach again, and your essence is torn from space.
Sari whispers: I'm kinda elaborating the RP here, I hope you don't mind.
You whisper to Wyrmling: no problem at all
A few brief sickening moments later, and you are standing before the ghostly goblins again. Only seconds have passed it seems.
The gobins bow before you, and salute you in the ancient manner of the goblin race. They fade from view.
Keira: "Kruul'ort has been successful." she announces to the golbins.

As you look around the cavern, you notice that Caelin is not among you.

Cur: "Well that was an experience..."

From ahead comes the sound of distant combat. The clash of weapons rings out over shrieks, some in goblin, others in a guttural tongue.
Taus: "Right,"
This huge chamber appears to have once been a barracks. Bones and debris are scattered across the floor, as are the rotted remains of what might once have been furnishings and weapons. Rotted purple draperies hang at intervals, some of them obscuring a number of stone benches. In the center of this chamber, a group of ghostly goblins engages in melee with a trio of hideously deformed creatures that have four arms and two mouths on their goblinlike bodies. You recognize these creatures from your excursion into Khyber in the Shadow Marches to rescue Cur. They are dolgrims—goblins twisted by the maddening power of the dark realm below Eberron.
One dolgrim looks at you and begins to gibber and points its crossbow at Taus.
